The Spectacular Dress

Dress - Topshop
Shoes - RMK

For something a little different I though I would show you an outfit I wore last week for a birthday night out of awesomeness. I don't normally get the chance to take photos of what I wear to an event or a night out because I'm usually rushing straight from work to get to places!

The theme for the night was "spectacular" and I don't know about you guys but I absolutely love dressing to themes, especially when its a particularly hard theme. It took me hours of searching to find this dress but it was worth it. My dress is from Topshop and it is a two-toned metallic dress that kind of reminds me of a dance costume I wore when I was younger. The photos don't exactly do it justice, when you look down its blue and when you look up its bronze and if you are looking at it front on you get a mix of the two colours.

The night was a lot of fun, it was so good I literally danced my feet off (if my feet weren't already broken they are now)! That's what happens when you can't leave the dance floor because the DJ keeps playing more and more great tunes. The night ended with everyone in a circle on swaying to Rainbow Connection ... you know by Kermit the Frog ... it was so sweet that I was teary eyed.

I also ran a 5km race last weekend with some friends. I had not done any training for it and when I completed the 5km I was thinking they had jibbed us, but I tracked it on my phone it definitely was a 5km course I just didn't realise I could do that, I'm quite proud of myself. I didn't win the race, I don't think anyone won? I didn't pay attention.

Wishing you all a very happy and safe Easter!

Summer's Gone

Vest - French Connection
Top - Nasty Gal
Skirt - Witchery
Boots - Windsor Smith

This past week I have been into the city quite a few times to visit the MICF (Melbourne International Comedy Festival) for some serious laughter. The festival runs until the 20th of April so if you are in Melbourne and haven't been yet I highly recommend seeing a show or two, you know you want to!

Fitting in shows around work is a challenge ... but challenge accepted! I have my festival guide filled with post it notes on people that I want to see, but somehow I don't think I will get a chance to see everyone that I want to.

So far I've seen Ryan Coffey, Kyle Kinane, Sam Simmons and Simon Taylor in that order. All very different, but all very funny shows.

I was actually lucky enough to be involved in the Comedy Allstars Supershow which opened the festival. I was part of the opening number and I danced my little heart out in front of a sold out crowd. The show is going to be aired on national TV on the 12th April (this Saturday) and I can't wait to see what it looked like.

This outfit was what I wore out to dinner and to see a show (I did change into jeans for the show though because it was cold in the evening!) These items are some new additions to my wardrobe that work well together. I haven't bought myself any new winter clothes yet and I sold most of my last few seasons' winter clothes. I do till have my coats but no jumpers or pants... so I need to do some serious shopping ASAP!

Hope you all have a great week!

Autumn Wishlist

Topshop Skirt | Topshop Pants | Topshop Holdall Handbag | Topshop Bobble Jumper | French Connection Skirt | ASOS Coat | Bardot Fluffy Jumper |
Chloe Tote | Windsor Smith Boots | The Iconic Skirt | French Connection Jumper

Since its officially time to say goodbye to Summer (come back soon please), I thought now would be an appropriate time to share with you what is currently on my wishlist for this season.

I have a slight obsession with midi skirts at the moment, I think they are really flattering, so you will probably see me wearing these a lot. Also you can't go out in autumn/winter in Melbourne without the perfect coat, I am lusting over this one from ASOS and I want it in my life!

I'm in need of some new handbags! I have been using this tiny shoulder bag lately but it hardly fits anything in. I'm definitely a large bag person, I have too much to carry around with me all the time. I really like the holdall from Topshop and love this Chloe tote (if my money was unlimited I would definitely buy this!)

Textured jumpers have been really catching my eye recently. I'm not sure about you but I love feeling different fabrics... I especially adore this purple bobble jumper from Topshop, I just think its a really cute piece.

Every year I like to buy a new pair of boots for the cooler seasons. It always seems takes me a really long time to find ones that I like, I don't know why I'm so fussy with shoes but I am! This year I have found these babes from Windsor Smith. I love the metallic heel and I can definitely see these working with a lot of outfits already. Last but not least these trousers from Topshop. I really like the tailored but casual look of these pants they are very versatile and I can dress them up to go out or just casually for coffee dates!

What is on your wishlist at the moment?

Post Fringe

Top - Muui
Shorts - Bardot
Runners - Nike
Sunglasses - ROC Eyewear

I am back from Adelaide! After a few days of recovery and pampering I'm slowly getting back into the swing of things.
The Fringe Festival was so much fun but a lot of hard work went into pulling it off. I performed almost every day with the exception of Tuesday & Wednesday as we we're in rehearsals and I was editing things for the Bollywood show right up to the last minute. All the feedback from the Bollywood show has been only positives and I am very thankful to be a part of a troupe who is also like a second family.
If you would like to read more about the show you can read this review here
I also had the opportunity to perform the Beyonce medley a few times around Adelaide in flash mobs and for the closing night of the Fringe Festival.
I saw a bunch of shows my favourite being Lords of Strut from Ireland, their show was a mixture of comedy and acrobatics with really awesome song choices you should definitely check them out if you ever get a chance to see them.
Now back in Melbourne we are in some serious planning mode for the Bollywood troupe.
It's been such nice weather since I've been back and its not going to last forever because I see rain forecasted for the rest of the week!
My outfit of the day is very casual and sporty, although I'm not very sporty. This is what I wore for a few errands on a really lovely 30 degree day.

Fall into you...

Top - ASOS
Skirt - Boohoo
Heels - Zu Shoes
Bag - ASOS
Sunglasses - ROC Eyewear

Oh my goodness is it March already? How time has been flying recently... I've been so busy lately and this past week I have worked way more than usual. This week started on Sunday at the Camberwell Market where a friend and I had a stall to sell some of our clothes. It was such an early start, a very long day and we didn't sell that much ... apparently it was quieter than usual (most likely because it was White Night the night before and everyone was still dead from that).

I also had the opportunity to perform with some lovely ladies during the week at Federation Square where we danced our Beyonce medley, it was for the Dhoom Medical Charity movie night, lots of fun and it was for a good cause! To top off the week I saw my favourite band in the whole world, Placebo! I haven't seen them for ages, they didn't disappoint and I had so much fun that night.

This week I have been hanging with my best friend who has just come back from overseas, so there is a lot of catching up to do!

Now on to what I am wearing! I decided on wearing some colour/prints in the last few days of summer before my wardrobe gets very plain and boring for winter. I am wearing this daisy print skirt I picked up from and a citrus yellow crop from ASOS, to me it is very 60's style especially the print of the skirt. I matched my shoes and bag with the white flowers on the skirt.

I'm off to Adelaide next week for my sold out show at the Adelaide Fringe Festival, it should be a lot of fun! I still have to get some last minute things. Hope you all have a lovely week.
